The Conversation Kit

The age of information, connection, internet and social media has provided ample opportunities for art spaces, initiatives, collectives and artists to share their work and ideas, developing outreach and visibility. The nature of sharing in this way limits interaction and dilutes connection. Working from the position that social media may have adverse effects on the communities it purports to support, The Conversation Kit aims to counter this phenomenon.

Drawing from historical forms of connection such as the salon, The Conversation Kit is a monthly event that offers a space for gathering and exchange, whakawhanaungatanga, kōrero and community. It takes place in The Kit at Artspace Aotearoa on the first Wednesday of every month as part of Curatorial Intern Emily Lyall's programme Rerekē. All are welcome. Come have a drink and be a part of the conversation.
